First Baptist Church is blessed to have brother Paul Moore as our pastor for congregatinal care, effective January 2026.

Shortly after Paul and Linda married, Paul discerned God was calling him to preach the gospel and serve God’s people in ministry. He was ordained to the gospel ministry by his home church, Brighton Baptist. After graduation from Union, Paul served as an assistant to Pastor Bill Davie at Greenlaw Baptist Church in Memphis, and taught physical education and coached at Frayser Baptist Schools. In 1978, Paul graduated with a Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas. Paul served as Pastor of Meadow Oaks Baptist Church in Temple, Texas for seven years, Charleston Baptist Church in Stanton, Tennessee for twenty-two years, and Hornersville Baptist Church in Hornersville, Missouri for sixteen years. Lee Center for Christian Ministry for many years. He also did studies in evangelism and church growth at the Billy Graham School of Evangelism, Church Growth and Ministry at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky. While serving the Hornersville Baptist Church, Paul was the moderator for the Black River Baptist Association for fourteen years.

Paul retired from full-time pastoral ministry in 2023 and he and Linda moved to Jackson, Tennessee. They came to love the community of faith, the preaching ministry, worship and prayer meetings, and the mission orientation of First Baptist Church. They became members in September of 2023. Paul serves as a Life Group Leader and is a member of FBC's Barnabas men’s group. Paul was called by our church to serve as Pastor of Congregational Care on January 18, 2026.
